As a faith school, we aim to be a beacon for Christ’s kindness towards one another creating a learning environment filled with respect, forgiveness, compassion, and a love for one another. At St Bede’s, we are proud to educate our children in mind, body, spirit and their sense of community by giving them the experiences, knowledge and skills that will provide them with a solid foundation for their lifelong learning.
We want to work in partnership with parents, carers and our local community as we strive towards these goals and support our children to achieve their full potential.
In our school, we believe that each person is unique and created to flourish in God’s image. We aspire to excellence through a nurturing environment in which every child takes Jesus Christ as their model and develops their individual gifts so that they live fully and serve others.
We have high expectations for all children and aim to provide every child with a strong foundation so that they leave our school equipped with the knowledge and skills that they will need for the next stage of their learning journey, and beyond. Along with ensuring confidence and proficiency in academic subjects, we provide opportunities for children to develop positive attitudes to learning and key skills such as creativity, resilience, problem solving and independence, skills that they will be able to apply throughout their lives.
At St Bede's Washington, we keep our parents, carers and families informed about upcoming events and celebrations of our children's successes. We regularly publish a newsletter, which is sent out electronically to all of our parents and is made available on this page. We also use Social media to share the very latest events, learning and religious celebrations that take place within our school.

Year 2 planned and carried out their final Celebration of the Word for this term based on our topic of ‘Preparations’. We made some beautiful lanterns to remember that Jesus is the light of the world. The children also wrote their own prayers about how they could welcome Jesus into their hearts this Advent.
