Reading

These children have received an achievement award from Reading Plus for reading an average of 88 texts and making 2.6 years of reading progress this year.  They are very committed readers!  Well done children!

Books Glorious Books

We wish to say a massive thank you to everyone involved in raising funds for our school. This includes parents, staff, Friends of St Bede’s and any others. We have managed to buy lots of books for each class to enable the children to enjoy reading for pleasure. Thanks so much!

Boogie Bounce

Today Year 2 and 3 took part in a very energetic PE lesson: Boogie Bounce! It was a non-stop fitness class using a trampette and some very catchy music. The children thoroughly enjoyed themselves and were absolutely exhausted by the end of the lesson! Well done everyone!

Skipping with Gail

Year 2 Celebration of the Word – Preparations

Year 2 planned and carried out their final Celebration of the Word for this term based on our topic of ‘Preparations’. We made some beautiful lanterns to remember that Jesus is the light of the world. The children also wrote their own prayers about how they could welcome Jesus into their hearts this Advent.

Christmas Concert

The children have had a wonderful afternoon singing and dancing along to the Music Hub Band’s fabulous Christmas songs. Happy Christmas everyone.

Year 2 Ferris Wheels

Year 2 have been exploring wheels, axles and frames by designing their own Ferris Wheel.

Year 1 and 2 Christmas Party

Year 1 and 2 had a wonderful time at their Christmas party. We have some very imaginative dancers in Key Stage 1! Happy Christmas everybody!

Snow Tubing

Year 2 had a wonderful time snow tubing at Silksworth Sports Complex today. We then relaxed with a cup of hot chocolate and even met a ‘special visitor’ – SANTA!

Remembrance Day

Halloween Disco

We had great fun at our Halloween Disco. The costumes were amazing! Thank you to the Friends of St Bede’s for organising this brilliant event.

Y2 Bikeability

Year 2 have enjoyed learning to be confident and safe when using their bikes today. Even some of our none riders were able to show a big boost in confidence by the end of their lesson. Well done Year 2!

Year 2 Shabbat

Year 2 have been learning about the Jewish celebration of Shabbat by acting out a Shabbat meal. We enjoyed sharing some challah bread and drinking grape juice.
